Ramachandran (also spelled Ramachandran or Ramachandran) is an Indian film actor and political leader who has appeared in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films. He has won numerous awards and recognitions for his acting.
Ramachandran was born on 17 January 1917 in Cuddalore in the Madras Province of India. His family is from Thoothimuziram in Tamil Nadu. He began his acting career with the film Sathi Leelavathi in 1936. Later, he became one of the leading actors of Tamil cinema, and in 1972, he formed his own political party, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
As an actor, he has appeared in more than 50 Tamil films. He has won several awards for his acting, including the Tamil Filmfare Award, the Indian Filmfare Award, the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, the South Indian Film Festival Awards, and the Filmfare Awards.
As a politician, he has been a member of the AIADMK party. He has been the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for two terms, the first from 1977 to 1980 and the second from 1980 to 1984.
